Good Soil

1 Corinthians 3:6-9 tells us that we are God’s field and that He is at work bringing growth and fruit in our lives, but that we also work in partnership with Him to see an increase in His Kingdom amongst us.

As God’s church it is important that we cultivate the right ‘soil’ so that we can grow and flourish into the people that God intends us to be together. How do we do that? By looking at what the Bible says are the characteristics of a community of Jesus-followers, and then asking God to help us to permeate every thought, conversation, activity and relationship with those same characteristics.

Over the next few months we will be doing just that at Aylsham Community Church. Our Sunday teaching series from January through to March will follow these headings: A Community of Courage, A Community of Honour, A Community of Acceptance, A Community of Authenticity and A Community of Generosity.

Our prayer is that as we learn, pray, serve and share our lives together these things will more and more become defining characteristics of who we are, and will be just the right soil in which God can grow a great harvest.
