TV Series–The Bible

'The Bible' starts on Saturday 30th November at 9pm on Channel 5.

This acclaimed mini-series telling the major stories from the scriptures is breath-taking in scope and scale. Powerful performances, exotic locations, action-packed re-enactments and state-of-the-art CGI bring to life miracles, iconic characters and tales of faith and courage from Genesis through to Revelation.

From executive producers Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) and three-times Emmy winner Mark Burnett (The Voice, Survivor, The Apprentice), The Bible features some of the most famous stories ever told, reworked for a new generation.

Aiming to stay true to the spirit of the original stories, the producers consulted 47 theological advisors during the making of the show. The series creators also decided that the cast should be an international ensemble.

Already a ratings blockbuster in the USA – over 13 million people tuned in to the first episode – The Bible also became the fastest selling TV show on DVD since 2008. The series was nominated for three Primetime Emmy awards, including Outstanding mini-series or movie.
